About Kidical Mass
What is Kidical Mass?
A Kidical Mass bike ride is a large group ride for kids of all ages, family members, and supporters. We choose an easy route that anyone can ride, and we ride as a pack for safety and fun. Our rides sometimes end with treats of some kind and always with time to hang out. While everyone rides at their own risk, we have guides to help keep the group together and block traffic at intersections.
Who can attend?
Anyone. The rides are free. All are welcome. The rides have an easy pace and are "no drop" rides, meaning no one will be left behind.
Where are Kidical Mass rides?
East Bay Kidical Mass has led rides ranging from 2 - 5 miles in Berkeley, Emeryville, and Oakland, California.
We look forward to expanding our range to other East Bay cities.
The first known Kidical Mass ride in the US was held in April 2008 in Eugene, Oregon and rides have now spread to over a dozen communities throughout North America and Europe.
The Kidical Mass Wikipedia page lists several other Kidical Mass rides in other states and countries.
How can I help?
The best way to help is to spread the word. Let your school or community know about the ride. We also welcome people who want to help guide the ride. Write to marc@precipice.org with any questions or to volunteer to help.
